MPW Champion Izzy Moreno to defend against La Rosa Negra at MPW’s Aug. 17 show

Newly-crowned Mission Pro Wrestling Champion Izzy Moreno will face returning former champion La Rosa Negra at the August 17 Midsummer Blast show, MPW announced. La Rosa is said to have been hand-picked by Thunder Rosa to face Moreno in her first defense of the title.

La Rosa became MPW's inaugural champion at December 2020's Run It Back show, defeating Lacey Ryan (now Zoey Stark in WWE), in the final match of the Tournament Out Of Hell. La Rosa's 316-day tile reign ended in October 2021 at Don't Fear The Reaper when challenger Jazmin Allure secured a controversial victory with help from interference by the Renegade Twins.

At Midsummer Blast, La Rosa will have the opportunity to make history again and become the first former MPW Champion to regain her title.
